I started this course in September 2023 it’s been the most amazing course, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed every minute!!
Gemma & David have been fantastic teachers, making it seem easy & fun to learn & giving me confidence to sign in my everyday life.
I would highly recommend everyone to do this course!!
Thankyou for all your help & patience xx
Sharon Eaves BSL Level 1 student (Sept 2023 - June 2024)
After always being interested in sign language it was great to see a BSL course being advertised in my home time.
On the first night attending I was very nervous as I didn't know what to expect. Meeting David and Gemma instantly put me at ease. I couldn't believe after the first lesson I was able to sign the alphabet.
8 months down the line and I have learnt so much, more than I ever imagined I would. I feel that I could now have a good conversation using BSL.
I would definitely recommend this course run by David and Gemma. They will make you feel at ease and each week is a very enjoyable lesson.
Thank you both so much xx

I was at the ERT Theatre BSL event that David that delivered last night and thought the whole experience was excellent and really useful that it was tailored to the theatre environment.
Thank you for a great evenings training. Andy - November 2022
"David and Gemma Webb are fantastic tutors / people . I had to do the course because of my job and I had grave reservations about my ability to complete the course as I am dyspraxic and really struggle with coordination. Immediately, from day one they both made me feel at ease and were very patient and kind. They have great chemistry and play off one another really well. They never make you feel stupid or embarrassed even when you do a sign incorrectly and I did many . As, the course progressed I really started to look forward to Wednesday evenings and when I passed level 1. I was so happy as I knew my confidence and skills / ability were growing so I signed up for level 2 Not because I had to for work but because I wanted too. Like level 1 I found the course interesting, fun and loved learning more vocabulary and conversations with David and my peers. Thank you David and Gemma for introducing me / helping me and guiding me to learn a new language and to understand the importance of sign language. I would recommend learning BSL to anyone and I would direct them towards David and Gemma as I don’t think I would have passed realistically without them as my tutors." T 🔔 , August 2022
"Gemma and David are outstanding teachers. They are extremely welcoming and kind, they radiate good vibes! They have an ability to make everyone feel welcome and comfortable immediately. The content of the course is taught at a good pace with plenty of time to reiterate and go over anything anyone finds tricky. No question is unanswerable and Gemma and David find unique and interesting ways to deliver the course. Each lesson is filled with big smiles and laughter and of course British Sign Language! Thank you Gemma and David!" - Lucy, August 2022
"David and Gemma supply the perfect blend of instruction, humour and creativity to prepare you for the examinations. Learning is enjoyable but detailed with regular resources to aim your studies. These teachers possess years of experience, and being Deaf themselves, discern a lot of knowledge from the community to equip you for beginning meaningful communication with Deaf people."
